On my way to work this morning I learned of a volatile situation with a couple of our prodigals. This couple had been doing so good, but in one moment of anger he had given her a black eye and ended up in jail himself. How disappointing. This situation remained on my mind all day long. I called the wife after work and talked and prayed with her. The tears were evident in her voice. It was hard to be reasuring when she is now going to lose her home and feels so all alone once again. As I searched the Word here is what the Lord gave me: "I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart, wait, I say, on the Lord!" Psa 27:13-14.
I was so discouraged to see this couple right back down in the pit. But the wife still has a job and we are going to try to help her get into a shelter. Please pray for that as we make contact with an agency tomorrow. Pray for her rest tonight. Pray God will be very near her and soothe her breaking heart. Her name is Pam.
Pray for Mark to be able to sit and think over the situation and allow God to speak to his heart in all this. Pray for him to be totally transformed during this time the Lord has set him apart. Pray for the others in the group as they learn of this turn of events. Pray they will reach out to both of them in love. Pray that we will have wisdom in how to help.
We must not be discouraged. The Lord is working in and through it all to accomplish His purposes. We must not give up. We must continue to show God's love and hopefully bring hope and healing to this couple. We must undergird them with prayer. Join us will you?

When you sit in darkness
Micah 7:8, "When you sit in darkness, the Lord will be your light." Isn't that a great promise to cling to. It doesn't say IF but WHEN. We all have our dark moments but the Lord promises to be with us and see us through. I don't know what I would have done over the years without that hope. Several of our families are in dark moments right now. Please pray for them.

Jerri-Breast cancer
Austin-in rebellion
Jason-awaiting results from tests
Rob-sick for a month
So many at work going through struggles also. Lets remember to intercede for each other. Lets pray God's will be done and for His grace to be sufficient for each struggle. The Lord ALWAYS has a purpose and a plan for all that comes our way. I like to think of it as being in God's Boot Camp. It is training and preparation for what He wants to do in our lifes in the future. Will we choose to fight against His purposes or rest in Him for the outcome. He is working in others also remember. We pray and pray for Him to work but we are not pleased with His methods often times. Let us learn contenment in all circumstances just like Paul. Read Phillipians 3. It is not easy but the deeper we come in our relationship with Him the easier it will be. Trust Him in all things. He knows best.

How can you be bored?
I cherish the downtime I have whether planned or forced. I have been perfectly content to be enclosed watching the snow fall and enjoying my quiet time.
Yesterday I read, cleaned, worked on a project, cooked, talked to all my family, then read some more. All things I don't usually have the time for while going to and fro.
Today I listened to John and Charles on TV, had my quiet time, worked on a project, cooked, read, walked the neighborhood with my husband, completed session one of Esther and watched the DVD with Beth, cried, laughed and learned. How can we get bored closed in less than 48 hours. With all the technology and opportunities we have to be energized why do we get bored so quickly. Maybe it is because we have not learned to be content with where God has us. We are always wanting something else. If we don't have down time we complain, if we do, we complain. Will we ever learn to be content in ALL things?
Tomorrow most of us will be back to the grind. Then the Lord will hear us complain we are too busy and don't have enough time to do the things we desire to do. Are we ever satisfied with where He has us?

Snowed in
My daughter Melissa has urged me to begin blogging again, so here goes! I had a dickens of a time getting back on. Thanks to my friend Neil we worked through it and are ready to roll. I figure if it was difficult then the enemy tried to defeat me but we perserverved and I pray I will honor the Lord in all that is shared.
What a beautiful sight as I look out on the landscape. The snow is so bright that the sun just glows off it. You need sunglasses to look out!
That is what I imagine Moses looking like as He came off that mountain after being with the Lord. God's glory was all over him. He literally glowed. I pray that as God has given us a respite from the busyness of the world that we have taken the opportunity to come into His presence. Now let us go out with the light of His glory on us to a lost and dying world. Let's be bold about our source of that light without fear or trembling.

Happy Birthday Rob
Can't believe we now have a 32 year old son! Amazing. Been a lot of water over, under and around the bridge since he was born. God has taught me so much through him. Thank you for the lessons son. I love you very much. I pray for you continually.
Man, I guess you thought I really took a vacation, huh? It has been a month since I wrote. I discovered facebook and then ministry has been amazingly busy.
We are having a function for the children of the incarcerated tomorrow night at Winston Square Park. Come join us at 6:00 for hot dogs, music and fun. Pray for the weather!!!!

Vacation time has come and almost gone
We look so forward to our vacation. We plan so much to do, and pack and the time finally arrives. Often times we are disappointed with our time or we have so much fun we don't want it to end. What am I saying? I never want it to end.
I have gotten so much done with the ministry this week with little down time. God has blessed me so much this week. We have a new board member, a new volunteer, a new opportunity to minister to other families, help to sponsor 3 young boys to go to camp. Wow, God totally amazes me. I love to be about His business. It has been an exciting week.
Now comes a little R & R. Tomorrow I will be traveling topless with our daughter. (In her convertible that is). Then I will be traveling with a couple of great friends to the lake for some sun and fun. I have way too many books and projects packed, but you never know what you will be in the mood to accomplish, right?
Of course today I raided the grocery store in preparation for our time away. I will be providing the meal for one night and of course have plenty of other goodies. We act like we are going to be gone for days. I can't wait to get away on both adventures. We never know what God has in store for us. I look for His divine appointments everywhere I go.
Hope you are having a good summer. We can't complain about no rain this year huh! What good does it do to complain anyway, we are not in control but praise God we know who is.

Hope on the Inside
Can you believe that half the year is about gone? Is it my age or is time really speeding along? There is much work to be done for the Lord, and when you see how fast your brief life is and how fast the time is flying, you understand the urgency of the hour to get the message of Christ out to all who will hear and that is just what we did this past weekend. It was amazing!
I was involved in an outreach to area prisoners this past weekend called, Hope on the Inside. It was sponsored by Forsyth Prison/Jail ministry. What an awesome experience as we saw 80 inmates pray to recive Christ.
Our topic was forgiveness of God, others, and themselves. There were 60 men in our unit and we sang, prayed and gave our personal testimonies. Please pray for these men to grow in their new faith. They don't have as many oportunities to recieve discipleship one on one as we do. The chaplains will followup with these men, but there are only 3-4 of them to 80 who made decisions.
What a privelege to go in to share the Truth of God with these men. Some have never heard but I guarantee they did that day. Pray for their families as they visit and grieve over the location of their son, daughter, spouse or father, mother, or some other loved one. It is so hard to leave your loved one behind the prison bars. The clang of the bars is unnerving.
On Wings Like a Dove is having an outreach July 16th for the children of the inmate. Pray we will make a difference in the lives of each family member who attends.
